MUSIC RIGHTS &
ADMINISTRATION SERVICES

Most catalogues are underpaid. We have thirty years of evidence.

Research Club audits, administers, and recovers revenue for record labels and publishers. We work where the money goes missing: registrations, statements, conflicts, and metadata.

Our Core Expertise: Recordings & Publishing

Most underpayments are not the result of bad faith. They are the result of incomplete registrations, unresolved conflicts, and statements that nobody audited. Managing a catalogue means knowing exactly where the money stops moving — and why.

Audit & Monetisation:

Are you certain your catalogue is being fully monetised? We conduct deep-dive audits to identify missing revenue streams across registrations, statements, and platforms — ensuring every royalty is tracked, claimed, and collected.

Estate & Legacy Management:

Inheriting a catalogue can be overwhelming. We map what you own, clarify rights across compositions and recordings, and turn inherited assets into organised, properly registered, and profitable ventures.

Recorded Music
(Master Catalogue)

A master catalogue is only as valuable as the accuracy of its metadata, the integrity of its registrations, and the completeness of its reporting. We audit and administer master catalogues end-to-end — from ISRC assignment and platform delivery to distributor statement verification and YouTube Content ID management.

Metadata Optimization & Extraction:

All track data accurate, granular, and platform-ready before delivery.

Catalogue Migration:

Secure asset transfers between distributors or labels, with no revenue interruption.

Catalogue Integration:

Technical onboarding of new or acquired assets into existing systems.

Comprehensive Auditing:

Historical statement review to identify gaps, errors, and unrecovered amounts.

YouTube Content ID Management:

Conflict resolution and claim monetisation optimisation.

Music Publishing
(Composition)

A composition generates revenue every time it is performed, streamed, synchronised, or reproduced. Most publishing losses happen not because the money was withheld, but because the work was never properly registered to receive it. We handle registrations, PRO administration, and royalty auditing across all mechanical and performance channels.

CWR (Common Works Registration) Implementation:

Standardised global registrations for seamless data exchange with collecting societies.

PRO & CMO Administration:

Registration and ongoing maintenance with performance rights organisations worldwide.

Conflict Resolution:

Identification and resolution of counterclaims and overlapping ownership shares.

Royalty Auditing:

Line-by-line verification of royalty distributions and statements.

Mechanical Rights Collection:

Licensing and collection from streaming platforms and physical sales.

Neighbouring
Rights

Neighbouring rights compensate the people who brought a recording to life — performers, session musicians, and the labels or producers who funded the recording. These royalties are consistently undercollected because the registration requirements are different and the territorial rules are complex. We handle both.

Rights Holder Registration:

Global registrations for performers and producers with relevant societies.

Dispute Mediation:

Resolution of territorial and repertoire conflicts at the society level.

Revenue Audits:

Identification and collection of eligible performance royalties across international territories.

Our Clients

Long-term relationships built on recovered revenue.

We work with independent labels, publishers, and catalogue owners across Brazil and internationally. Our client relationships are long-term by design — royalty recovery and rights administration are not one-time interventions. They require continuity.

How We Work

Precision is not a promise. It is a process.

Research Club is not a generalist consultancy. We work exclusively in music rights — recordings, compositions, and neighbouring rights — and we have spent thirty years building the diagnostic methodology that makes our audits different from a standard review.

Stage 1 — Assessment

Every engagement begins here. We map your catalogue: what you own, where it is registered, where it is being distributed, and where the reporting chain breaks down. This stage is not billable. We do it because we will not take on work we cannot improve.

Stage 2 — Audit and Recovery

We go line by line. Statements are checked against registrations. Registrations are checked against society records. Conflict histories are reviewed. Every discrepancy is documented with evidence, and every recoverable amount is pursued through the appropriate channel — whether that is a distributor, a PRO, a CMO, or a platform.

Stage 3 — Administration and Monitoring

Once the catalogue is clean, we administer it on an ongoing basis. New releases are registered correctly from day one. Statements are verified as they arrive. Conflicts are flagged and resolved before they accumulate.

How We Charge

Royalty audits and recovery work are typically structured on a percentage-of-recovery basis — we are paid when you are paid. Ongoing administration is structured as a monthly retainer, scoped to the size and complexity of your catalogue. We are transparent about both from the first conversation.

Blog

We write about royalty administration, rights management, and the structural mechanics of how revenue flows — and where it does not. Updated when we have something worth saying.
